A sad memory from the Times

"Hi fasetpatria

I have access to The Times archive. This one is from The Times newpaper of February 21st 1972.

I should say if my son had died, I would be asking whether those in charge took enough care for his safety. There's no discussion of this aspect in the report. Things were different then...

The lost photos from 1970 Skiing out are found

On Boxing Day 1970, a party led by Dave Shepherd and John Shirley went to the far end of Switzerland to learn to ski. Some rare slides have surfaced and will appear over the next few weeks. Does anyone else have more ?

Photo one shows Jez Smythe, Nick Peaty and Kevin Havill on New Years Day 1971 showing off their manly beer consumption. This was largely as a result of cheating on a bagatelle machine, the prize of which was a free litre bottle of lager.

Photo 2 shows Kevin Havill with a broken leg - the fun we had.
