Mike Smith has thrown some light on the photo below and the quiz question of "Who is that boy?"
"The boy crossing the road at The Parade in 1950’s looks rather like Alan Cooper of 3G but the photo is rather too blurred to be sure. If it is Alan, you can see what he looked like in 1952 close-up in the school panorama of that year. He is in the second row, immediately in front of the teachers, Messrs Griffin and Nicholson. I was in the same class and photo. I appear in the top row on the extreme right between Holiday on my left; Woodward on my right; and behind Reeves (on my right); Younghusband and Southgate (on my left). Mike Smith"

Remarkable powers of deduction Mike, and I'm sure you're right. Note the lack of cars in the picture, I'm not good on cars, can anyone name the make of the car in the picture? Our Family Ford Zephyr, 584AUV, came quite a few years later! I can count 11 teachers in the panorama shot who were still at the school when I went there in 1960 - left to right, Hutchinson, Winter, Payne, Love, Birchall, Jewitt, Owen, Williams, Nicholson, Carey and Cooke. There may be others. So quite a stable staffing compared with the 1960's. And a few more bare legs in the front row compared with later panorama shots!
