Do you remember this on the wall of the old Pavilion ?

Are you old enough to remember this on the wall of the old Pavilion ? When we were all playing cricket at Purley Boys school this photo hung in prime position in the pavilion.

The wicket keeper in the photo - John Asquith was one of the finest cricketers that attended the school.

The Pavvy was knocked down in the 1980’s and the photo lost for all time. However, last month it reappeared as part of the Nigel Bowles Archive.

However the caption is wrong. Hugh Asquith ( John's son ) has pointed out that
the bowler was actually Tom Hare.

Funnily enough (and even though I wasn't particularly interested in cricket) I do. Wasn't there also a photo of a tied first-class match?
