Cricket U16 around 1964

Martin Jones writes "A rare sighting of Mr Robinson, who would have been Head of Biology and George Winter's boss, although less inclined to talk about the processes of excretion than George. Succeeded at the school by Mr Openshaw who was as tall as Mr Robinson was short. Mr Robinson was keen on rugby but don't recall him being an ace at cricket. Back row - N/K, Front Row - l to r - Mathie Patterson, Christie, possibly Smith, Lock, possibly Turk, N/K"

I think this is more likely the 2nd XI. Back row on the far right is Richard Sweet and the scorer is Bob Coney. Bill Mathie second from left, front row, and far right front row looks like Alan Westall. Adrian Christie isn't in it - he was already in the 1st XI. Bit of a collector's item if anyone is into knitting patterns, by the look of it.

I do George Winter a disservice, he was head of biology rather than Mr Robinson.

Yes, Mathie is 2nd left. Have a vague recollection that the chap on the far left of the front row was German (or similar) with a name to match.

If the captain (with glasses) was not Christie, I have no idea who it could be

Not sure how Chris Lock has slipped into the front row as 2nd from the right hand end is more likely to be Nigel Turk than Chris.
