Don Baker's Report book.

Don Baker writes : "My Last report from December 1953 - and they wondered WHY I was more interested in a Practical career rather than an academic one

I did a lot of work with Mr Love and was his Sidekick on the construction of the "One Man Band" he built plus I was involved in the construction and erection of the Proscenium Arch over the stage and helping him create the New Honours Boards at that time. Who got the rubbing down to do ?! .

Interesting how little the reports changed over the years, and I can find a report from my last year (1968) which is exactly the same as this one. The big difference is in Handicraft where I consistently got Ds from George Love until I was able to give it up in the 5th year in favour of Music. The initials of Love and Payne are clear enough but is that George Winter's initials (GDW) under Chemistry? I didn't think he ever taught that subject. Morrish for RI perhaps? Don't recognise anyone else. Working part time in a school now confirms how brief and inadequate the reports were at Purley compared with the reports which teachers have to produce now!
